Carlson Wagonlit Travel brings Australia and New Zealand under single leadership
SYDNEY, December 1, 2010 — Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), a global leader
specialising in business travel management, has developed a new structure with David Greenland,
existing Managing Director Australia, extending his current responsibilities to lead both the
Australian and New Zealand businesses.
The expanded role of Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand will support CWT’s growth
strategy to boost market presence in the region. In particular, the new role will enable CWT to
compete more effectively in New Zealand by leveraging resources and creating a platform for growth
under a single lead.
Martin Warner, COO Asia Pacific, said the business alignment will help to create synergies
between CWT Australia and CWT New Zealand, who already share common processes and systems.
“It is the next logical step in growing the New Zealand business as we look to increase our
strength across the Tasman. The Australian and New Zealand businesses have shared clients,
therefore it makes sense for a single role to oversee all business activities in the region.”
“This structural change also forms part of our global and regional strategic priorities and
will benefit clients, employees and both CWT businesses alike,” Mr Warner said.
The new alignment will ensure both businesses work in close association to enhance
efficiencies and deliver the highest level of customer service.
David Greenland has been with CWT for nine years, including the last two years as Managing
Director for CWT Australia.
“David is a proven leader and his depth of understanding and passion for the CWT business will
go a long way to strengthen CWT in these key markets,” Mr Warner said.
